I recently discovered Lupo Pizzeria that left an indelible mark with its warm hospitality and delectable cuisine. Despite not having a reservation, the staff welcomed us with genuine warmth, turning a spontaneous visit into a memorable dining experience. The restaurant's ambiance and friendly atmosphere set the stage for a great evening.
The culinary journey began with a variety of appetizers, with the Burrata salad stealing the spotlight. While the pizzas may not claim the title of "the best," they certainly earned their place among the very good, boasting a perfect crust and a diverse selection of toppings to suit every taste.
A surprising star emerged in the form of a sandwich that surpassed all expectations, showcasing the chef's creativity and culinary prowess. Throughout the meal, the staff's attentiveness and commitment to ensuring a seamless dining experience further elevated the evening.
In conclusion, this gem is not just a haven for delicious fare but also a testament to exceptional hospitality. Whether you're a local or a passing traveler, the combination of warm welcomes and scrumptious offerings makes this restaurant a must-visit.
Only suggestion is to add gluten free crust options so everyone can enjoy the great taste!
Overall, it is not a bad place to eat. However, this is not what we expected from an Italian pizzeria that advertises itself as such. This is not Italian style pizza (dough), but American style. This not a bad thing, but misleading publicity. Also, really low quality ingredients. We ordered two pizzas with fungi porcini and instead of having this, they had common brown mushrooms (image attached)... what a way to lie to their clients... I guess they expect that their clients will not notice the difference... what a joke. On top of that, low quality mozzarella specially (again not italian) as well as other ingredients.... the amount truffle was also very scarce. To sum up, they create misleading expectations.
Take a break from work and stopped by Lupo Pizzeria and had a delicious time. Their lunch special was on point. Service was great. Definitely not your everyday pizza. I had a salad and pizza with glass of white prosecco, and it was awesome. The portions was great. I actually had to take two slices back home.
Had an incredible time at Lupo Pizzeria. Even though they don't take reservations I called early and they made a note that a party of 7 would be coming in to accommodate us. The pizza was delicious, they have good vegan options as well. The shrimp pesto burrata pizza is not on the menu but we asked for it and got it! It was so delicious. The truffle e funghi pizza (tartufata) was INCREDIBLE. Simo was our server and he was so kind and gave us so many recommendations. He overheard we were celebrating a birthday and brought out a delicious dessert with a candle and gave the birthday person a limoncello shot on the house. This restaurant deserves ALL THE CREDIT!!! Absolutely delicious, welcoming, and incredible service. Grazie mille Simo!
This is an offshoot of Lupo Verde, and mostly specializes in pizza. The pizza and appetizers are both really good and a bit different. For example, instead of mozzarella sticks, they serve taleggio sticks which are soft, gooey and delicious. Service is brisk and adequate. The interior is decorated with Italian bicycling shirts, bright photographs of rustic town facades, and so on. It's a nice little place!
Had a great experience at Lupo Pizzeria! We were walking down U street and decided to stop for some drinks. Lupo is a beautiful, cozy pizzeria with Christmas spirit and a wide selection of Italian food. Their $10 happy hour was great - Hugo Spritz in the winter? Yes, please. I can’t wait to come back for their carbonara pizza ($20). The bartender was very friendly and overall, the place has a very welcoming and chill atmosphere. It’s worth the visit!
We found this pizzeria while walking and looking for a place to eat. The pizza was amazing and the decor inside was cute. My only complaint is about our server, who was yelling at other members of the staff and made a rude comment (only to us) about not receiving a tip yet although we were planning on giving him one.
Stopped in for a pizza and also had an appetizer. The beef and sausage meatball (Polpetta Al Sugo) was very enjoyable, very fresh and well made. The very fresh, floral herbs and homemade marinara put this meatball on a different level. The pizza was also above average. There was plenty of cheese and sausage atop that special crust which had a nice snap to it. The crust was baked to perfection in their Marra Forni oven, which averages 640 degrees. I would definitely come back again.
